We are a registered non-profit and charitable organization dedicated to providing affordable community space for cultural, social, educational, and recreational activities in the heart of Vancouver’s Kitsilano neighbourhood. Facilities include the Mel Lehan Hall, a variety of multi-purpose rooms, and dedicated office and co-working spaces.

St James Community Square is committed to creative placemaking. We work with local cultural organizations to facilitate their events and activities including festivals, arts and music events, open studio sessions, dances, and celebrations of ethnic experiences. Our cultural programming offerings energize our communities and strengthen social ties.
The facilities at St. James house many programs that enhance community experience. They are directly managed by community partners. We have room for expansion and invite others to join.
St James supports the design and development of high quality learning experiences in our facilities. We offer multi-purpose rooms for a variety of educational uses including personal development, mastering a skill, learning a new hobby, and youth camp experiences.
St. James Community Square is proud to host many popular recreational programs. Users craft and facilitate active experiences, including dance, yoga, martial arts, and gymnastics. Reimagine our space with your ideas.
MEETINGS AND PRESENTATIONS
St. James offers dedicated private spaces that are distraction free. Our multi-purpose rooms come fully equipped with whiteboards, outlets, and wifi. Our floor plans are flexible to suit any meeting, presentation, or workspace needs.
Capture and broadcast your concerts and events from our iconic space. The Hall is a re-purposed church sanctuary, now over 100 years old, and updated with a new stage and sprung dance floor. Vaulted ceilings provide excellent acoustics. Livestream using our new video and sound production infrastructure in a facility that has retained all of its charm.
