The 40+ year old wheel chair lift has been replaced with a new model that can carry up
to 1,000 pounds/454 kg. Handicapped access to St. James Hall has been significantly improved
and new access to the western portion of the main floor has been created.
This improvement has been made possible with financial assistance from The City of Vancouver,
Canada Western Bank, The Highbury Foundation, F.K. Morrow Foundation, The John Hardie Mitchell Foundation,
and The Hylcan Foundation, plus individual donors.

A night of fiery and meditative improvisation in Persian classical
music. After many years of collaboration the legendary Iranian
composer, Tar and Setar player Maestro Hossein Alizadeh, and renowned
Iranian Percussionist/Tombak player Pejman Hadadi, come together one
more time to share and perform their music in the U.S. and Canada,
based on the music from their CD, Monad.

Kits Classics + Worlds Beyond
Adventurous programming, an informal atmosphere, and great musicians make the
Kits Classics + Worlds Beyond concert series a perennial favourite. The series
is accessible in every way, from the cost of admission, which is by donation,
to the configuration of the seats; the performers abandon the stage and set up
on the floor with the audience seated around them. These family friendly
performances are open to all ages. All concerts take place on Sundays at
4:00 pm.
Admission is by donation.
