James Community Square
Wheelchair accessibility
The 40+ year old wheel chair lift has been replaced with a new model that can carry up
to 1,000 pounds/454 kg. Handicapped access to St. James Hall has been significantly improved
and new access to the western portion of the main floor has been created.
This improvement has been made possible with financial assistance from The City of Vancouver,
Canada Western Bank, The Highbury Foundation, F.K. Morrow Foundation, The John Hardie Mitchell Foundation,
and The Hylcan Foundation, plus individual donors.

Step out and celebrate a beautifully refinished wood floor with Vancouver Country
Dance in St James Hall. Enjoy an evening of live music and contra dance and help raise
some funds to cover the cost of this great upgrade.
Vancouver Country Dance is a non profit association of dancers engaged in promoting
and providing country dance in Vancouver. They have generously offered to donate the
proceeds from this event to the St James Hall Floor Fund. Donations over $10 are
eligible for tax receipts from St. James Community Square.
Thank you Vancouver Country Dance for assisting with this expensive project. Other
supporters have been Mel Lehan, The Acoustic Connection, The Rogue Folk Club,
Salsa Vancouver (which also hosts regular dances in this space), Divine Hardwood
Floors, and individual donations.

Join us for 2009-2010 marking our twelfth concert season of wonderful chamber
and world music performances featuring some of Vancouver's finest musicians.
Admission
is by donation.
Adventurous programming, an informal atmosphere, and great
musicians, to say nothing of cookies and juice served during
intermission, make the Kits Classics + Worlds Beyond concert series
a perennial favourite. The series makes high quality, live music
accessible in every way, from the cost of admission, which is free
or by donation, to the configuration of the seats; the performers
abandon the stage and set up on the floor with the audience seated
around them.
We gratefully acknowledge St. James Community Square, Vancity
Savings, Parthenon Foods, Mustel Group Market Research, Calhoun’s,
Safeway, IGA, and private individuals for their generous support of
these concerts.
